Happy Bday this week to Paul and Jerome.

“My Terrible Doodle Stamp To Paul“.

This week I really might not say very much because I feel a little unwell you can send cards to the usual address

“The Sun Made A Rare Appearance While Out In North London”.

“Visiting Kenwood House Is Always Pleasant”.

Over the last few months, I realised there are things that as an old person, I really do not understand. If my niece and nephews asked me how a vinyl record (remember them) works, I can explain the basic principle of the groove and the needle. But how does the sound get imbedded into the disc, that’s something I really don’t understand. At an appropriate future occasion, I will look online and find out the answer ready for any questions from the little ones in the family. Something else that has been bothering me recently is Gravity (or is it Mavity?). How does it work, what is? If the little ones asked me about the subject, as an adult I am embarrassed to say it’s a fundamental interaction that I really do not understand.

“The Sun Makes Everything Come Out”.

Science is something I love to watch and listen to in documentaries or reading books and magazines and over the years I have absorbed a lot of useless information. But how much of that do I really understand. Sadly, at school I was not encouraged to learn science due to being considered thick, my class was left to rot and mess around, the educational establishment really couldn’t be bothered with my class of no hopers. We learned a very basic general science, there was sadly no studying deeper into the individual sciences.

“Great Spending Time With Family, Beside The Sea”.
“While Waiting For Family To Arrive, I Attempted To Look Clever”.

About a month ago I started listening to a new podcast about astrophysics, so much of it I casually knew, but this has made me want to know more and understand what I was hearing. This led to me purchasing a book by one of the hosts. Regularly I can now be found reading or listening repeatedly intently trying to understand the information. Because it’s so interesting and a little complicated I can’t do anything else at the same time, I have to be still and concentrate, hoping that information is going in. This got me thinking that to really have an understanding about astrophysics I should start at the beginning and learn basic high school physics as well. In a few days, a couple of brand-new school study books will arrive allowing me to read and attempt to learn all about this more and more interesting subject.

“SAZ & I Enjoyed A Lovely Meal At LAYA (21 Grand Parade, Saint Leonards-On-Sea, TN37 6DN) Near Hastings”.
“All So Yummy. This Second Visit Was Wonderful. Looking Forward To Returning In 2025”.

I have never been good at learning, which is obvious from my current circumstances. But I always hear “it’s never too late…..”. Maybe I will prove that saying wrong, and just crash and burn. I have been a boring sod for a long time, banging on about Doctor Who, Star Trek or Wars and other subjects that “normal” people aren’t bothered about. Now at every opportunity I am ready to add physics to the list. Be prepared to turn on your heels if I appear.

“Thank You, Mum, Hel, SAZ, Anoodle And Jbomb For A Great Time”.

And Now For Something Completely Different……

“My Lovely Roommate Jbomb In Hastings”.

This week spent a little time in a local shop that appears to sell everything from crisps to plumbing accessories. Products packed on shelves and racks hanging from floor to ceiling just waiting to be taken home.

“Moved My Tommy Seedlings Into Individual Pots”.

Little shops like this are a treasure trove, like most people I do shop online. But now I have discovered this I will have to pop in more often. Plus, the prices are not overly expensive. The high street is looking more and more empty these days, shops like this have always been important, maybe more so these difficult days. We will regret it when shops like this disappear.

“Head Gardener Lady F, Checking What I Was Doing”.
“A Look Of A Job Well Done”.

As I mentioned at the top, I feel like poo on a stick. I’ll shut up now.

And Finally……

A couple of weeks ago, I raved about Turmeric in baked beans. This week I discovered the flavour sensation that are Fennel seeds in beans. The next step will be to try them together.

“A Very Unplanned Stroll In Central London”.

Heard someone say, “squat bar”. I suspect they were talking about exercising; however, my mind went straight to an establishment where alcohol can be purchased at a very low bar. I could see people chatting and drinking while squatting.

“Abbey Road Crossing As Seen From The Top Of A London Bus”.
